Family differences

Do differences make a difference?

We live in a multicultural world where differences attract, similar to the animal kingdom. Humans meet each other in the different places, sometimes deliberately via an online portal where one displays all ones best attributes and other times accidentally at work, in pub, bar or club. Either way, there are different reasons people meet up, when the heart catches fire and ignites the magnet in us at the thought or sight of another, there’s no stopping the longing feeling you get to be close that one. Regardless of their cultural background when the magnets attract, they pull and pull.

There you have it, a newborn has come into the world with a collection of not only different colours but also different connections. The meeting of minds bring’s with it a new identity with a history. The history of a parent is a mix of their parents, other family members, friends and even foes (or what one calls enemies), these people make up the web of differences in each of us. Our understanding of the world taken from our experiences, experiences that begun when landed with a bump on the planet.

So, how complex is it? Is it just different cultures or races of people or are those people a mix of different physical, emotional, mental and stereotypical views. So many things make up a part of an individual.

We have parents who could be from different parts of the world. They come with families who may not approve of their partner as a good choice, to bring into the family tree. This could be for religious reasons, as some religions expel or don’t encourage the mating or marrying of someone, who does not have the same belief’s. Or is it just because they believe they are a class above or in some cases, below.

Two colours together, two religions together, two cultures together, two ages far apart but together. This brings with it not just the obvious but also some not so obvious emotional, mental or even new age spiritual of the same Ethnicity, Colour, Religions still have differences. There is the class system which exists within communities. The Rich, Working class and the underclass. If one family consists of wealthy workaholics, and the other consists of the so-called underclass on a supplementary benefit care of the government, does this make them less of a human.

There is division everywhere, as everyone tries to attain some ‘thing’ of value. A car or two, a house or two they create this imaginary pedestal which elevates them above others (all in the mind of course – ask any black celebrity in the united kingdom). Where does that leave that magnet of electricity, that brings two humans together? Does the heart care about appearances?!

It is what it is, and regardless of place and time, people will see in someone something other than the riches or poverty of a class system. That something will bring two people together, even if mummy or daddy doesn’t approve. In fact, the more a parent says to the child don’t touch, the more curiosity develops and the child wants to touch, and find out why for themselves.

Why? Because this is your journey, your journey to walk alone. You came in alone and you will leave alone – with your experiences of course. Why not enjoy the journey with all its pitfalls, heartaches, laughter and joy.
